The Keystone Gulf Coast Expansion Project (Keystone XL) is in need of your support. Since the application was filed in 2008, the DOS has held more than 20 public comment meetings along the pipeline route and, in the spring of 2010, determined that expansion of Keystone to the Gulf Coast would have limited impact on the environment.
Background The Presidential Permit application for Keystone XL has been under review by the U. In addition, Trans Canada has held more than 90 open houses and public meetings along the route; delivered hundreds of hours of testimony to local, state and federal officials and submitted thousands of pages of project information and studies to government agencies. In March of 2011, the DOS committed to delivering a definitive decision on Keystone XL before the end of the year and recently issued a supplemental draft environmental impact statement (SDEIS).
January 28, 2009: DOS began public scoping period to solicit input on Keystone XL from interested parties. April 16, 2010: DOS issued draft environmental impact statement (EIS) on the proposed Keystone XL and its potential environmental impacts. April 15, 2011: DOS issued a SDEIS, based on its assessment of additional information about the project.
April 22, 2011: A 45-day public comment period on the SDEIS began.
The contest requires students to write personal letters to the author of a book or poem that in some way changed “their view of the world or themselves.” At the heart of the program is decades of research that clearly shows that “children who read, write better; children who write well, read more.” State winners advance to the national level to compete for additional rewards and recognition.
Glasgow High School has two students who received Letters of Recognition from the Montana Board of Regents for earning top marks on the Montana University System Writing Assessment.
