Breaking her silence over her single status, Caroline took to Twitter to make a dig at her ex-fiance who famously follows Manchester United, when she wrote how she was happy to be a Liverpool fan.“It’s a hard time for me right now. “Happy I support Liverpool right now because I know I’ll never walk alone,” she wrote.
“Obviously it’s quite a difficult time for Caroline and myself.“It was mutual and amicable and we both thought it was the best for us, the best for both of us.”STRESS The announcement came as a bolt from the blue to onlookers, but friends close to Rory have been less surprised, telling Sunday Life that the pair have been on and off for some time.
They are believed to have broken up last April after Caroline posted an unflattering picture of Rory sleeping and open mouthed on Twitter.
But according to one of the Rory’s close pals he had been expecting a long engagement while Caroline was in a hurry to wed.“Things haven’t been right between Rory and Caroline for about a year now, he’s made that very clear,” said the friend.“Everyone was completely shocked when he proposed, but he thought that would buy him more time because Caroline had made it clear she expected him to pop the question.
INVITES“He really didn’t expect wedding plans to take shape so quickly but Caroline just got totally carried away — he thought they wouldn’t get married for years but she became a bridezilla.“He found himself in the middle of something he couldn’t handle, a wedding planned less than a year after they got engaged, and when the invites went out that was the last straw, he freaked out. “Therefore, I have no dream to make my mark.“Instead, I enjoy economic freedom my hard work has given me.“It means that I can give my children the best start in life.” It is thought Caroline, who is said to be devastated at the split, had already chosen her wedding dress for the nuptials before Rory called the whole thing off and issued a public statement explaining his reasons.
