Online dating is very popular, but your success at online dating hinges on your ability to create a good profile.
Plentyoffish dating forums are a place to meet singles and get dating advice or share dating experiences etc. A headline is not going to sway me one way or another....... The headline possesses no power in that attraction to you or your profile...... anything materialistic or anything that says you are beautiful or a hottie to me is a turn off. I'd steer clear of anything that mentions "Damsel in Distress" or even "Looking for my Prince." Those two have always been big time lame-o in my book.
Hopefully you will all have fun meeting singles and try out this online dating thing... I gravitate towards humbleness and modesty so anything like the examples below is a turn off for me.. Only mention Prince if you are referring to the androgynous one, himself. Last time I spoke to him he grumbled something about "Damned stupid Serious Member..." He's a touchy celebrity, that guy. I figure if there's someone intelligent enough to swoon over my profile, they might as well get some entertainment value out of it, too.
Example: this one girl is fairly quiet and studious, busy with school.
But her profile sounded like she was bar hopping every other day.
To me, this portrays a woman with integrity and values...my opinions...
Like people above said, anything like "hottie_in_SD", "hottie_lawyer", or "where art' though my beautiful prince" are turn-offs.
Remember that we are the largest free online dating service, so you will never have to pay a dime to meet your soulmate. Sometimes it's goofy, sometimes it's a private joke, sometimes it's topical to the moment... The headline really should just support the type of person you are and what you are looking for.
What I look for in a profile is some common interests and some non-common interests. I get a good laugh from the "Are there any good men left? Even if you DO want to mention "puppies and porn" (which I think was also the NAME of a Prince album...) that's fine if that is the kind of guy you are trying to nab.
I honestly pay almost no attention to women's profile headlines. For my own, I've been trying the reverse psychology angle lately, and I've received a few positive comments. We don't care if you know poetry and sappy song lyrics -- REALLY.
